I make wooden spoons and bowls from fresh cut trees using only traditional hand tools; mainly an axe, knife and gouge. Woodworking has always been a passion of mine, and when I started making spoons 3 years ago, I fell in love with it immediately. The forms all come from natural bends and crooks in the trees. My wife and I own 2 acres in Maryland where I source fresh timber for my work. I know that the moment you hold one of my spoons or bowls you will feel a connection to the work that went into it. My knife and gouge cuts are left present showing not only that it is handmade but that someone used their skill and intuition to create something that is beautiful and functional. I hope you enjoy my work, it is genuine and lasting.
